A strong partner in the field of scrap metal

Cronimet Ostrava, s.r.o., has been operating on the market since 2010 and its main business areas in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The company has many years of experience in the purchase, recycling and trade of stainless steel scrap and offers its customers a highly functional service and reliable cooperation thanks to its international background and know-how in the field of waste processing.

Processing of waste from stainless and from other alloy steels

“As already mantioned, we specialize in the processing of waste from stainless and other alloy steels,” says Lucie Milatová, Head of Cronimet, Ostrava, and continues: “In purchasing we mainly focus on waste of the following grades 1.4301, 1.4541, 1.4404, 1.4000, 1.4510, 1.4828, 1.4841 and other steels, e.g. low-alloy or high-speed steels, etc. We buy the waste both in solid form and in smaller dimensions or shapes such as metal turning. When purchasing solid that are larger than the permissible size of 1.5 x 1.5 x 0.5 m, additional costs for waste processing, such as burning and cutting, must also be taken into account. When we receive waste in the form of turnings, we struggle with the problems of the moisture that these chips contain, especially during the autumn and the winter months. We process and treat the waste purchased according to the requirements of our customers and re-distribute it to steel mill throught Europe. It is not an easy task and often depends on the details. There is a need to adhere to strict control and to the specified process of creating a batch of processed scrap metal for the metallurgical plant.”

Quality is quaranteed by both an experienced team and modern facilities

A great team of skilled experts works in Cronimet Ostrava. They assist their clients in determining the analysis of the alloys offered , as well as in individual pricing. To this end they are equipped with a modern laboratory in which they are able to analyze the composition of the elements in the waste with an accuracy of a thousandths of a percent. They also determine other variables as moisture, material yield, process samples from customers and carry out precise analyses.

Transparency and individual approach

“Our great advantage is the transparency of the waste reception process and its assessment. We do not hide anything from anyone and our customers can come to check it personally to Ostrava. Our great advantage is also the timely payment of goods, as well as a modern and flexible management structure,” emphasizes Ms. Milatová, adding: “As for the future, we want to enter the market in the Balkans and in Russia. It is no secret that the market in Europe is currently stagnating and the outlook is not optimistic. However, we expect that in the situation here in in Europe will stabilize in a few years and the recession will not have a critical impact on this sector.”
