DIWASS - New EU Waste Shipment Regulation

We would like to inform you that from May 21, 2026, the European Union will require all cross-border waste shipments to be carried out via the new Digital Waste Shipment System (DIWASS) for electronic data exchange.

DIWASS is a new digital system that will connect authorities and businesses across Europe and enable standardized electronic exchange of information on waste shipments. This system will replace the current paper-based administration and will bring significant simplification and acceleration of processes related to cross-border waste shipments. Registration, verification, and compliance with strict data protocols will be required, with all parties needing to use official identification numbers and follow new rules for data retention and security.

At this time, not all details regarding the operation of the DIWASS system are known yet. However, we are striving to find out as much information as possible and to prepare for this new development in cross-border shipments, as only timely preparation will ensure that the launch of this new digital platform will not threaten or disrupt our business and the smooth flow of cross-border waste shipments.
