With the publication of our Sustainability Report 2024, we are taking an important step towards a sustainable future.
The report was prepared in alignment with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Although we are not yet legally required to comply with these standards for 2024, we have deliberately chosen this path. For us, reporting is more than just a mandatory exercise: We view it as a strategic tool to develop our company sustainably and future-proof.” says CIO/CHRO Annette Gartner, who oversees the Sustainability Management division.

Climate Action Plan: targets verified by the SBTi
A key component of the report, as well as our sustainability strategy, is the Climate Action Plan aimed at reducing emissions generated within our operations (Scope 1 + 2) and those caused by our activities along the value chain - such as transportation (Scope 3).
Our emissions reduction targets were reviewed and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in April 2025.
We have set ambitious goals:
- By early 2034, we aim to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 60%
- Scope 3 emissions by 35%
- By 2050, we are striving for Net-Zero emissions across all areas
By taking this step, we clearly support the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C.
Our Climate Action Plan focuses particularly on:
- electrifying our fleet
- transitioning to non-fossil energy sources
- improving energy efficiency
These steps are essential to actively shape the transformation and position our company for the future.
